On Monday, 12 October 2026, at 9.30 am, my defamation claim — Iris Koh Hsiao Pei v Choong Yan Weng, Beatrice, MC/OC 7337/2024 — goes to trial in Court 27B, on Level 27 of the State Courts of Singapore, 1 Havelock Square. A larger courtroom has been set aside for the hearing.
For five years, people in our community have asked me the same questions. What really happened in August 2021, after the first National Day Zoom event? Why did the split happen? And why, after that, was Healing the Divide material kept out of the vaccine-related Telegram groups — posts removed, members warned not to share our content?
This trial is about those questions. At its centre is a message sent on 29 August 2021 to a group of administrators of COVID-19-related Telegram groups. It is not in dispute that the Defendant wrote and posted it. Its words include: that “the gov is watching IK and gang”; that there was “probably less alarm regarding her seditious actions”; that “we will just need to let the G handle them separately”; and the instruction to “Ensure that IK material is separate from ours.”
I say those words accused me of criminal conduct against the State, and that they were false. What the Defendant says, and what the law makes of it all, is for the Court — and on Monday, for the first time, both of us will answer questions about those events under oath, in public.
Over the past five years, a great deal has been said about Raymond and me — much of it by people who are not parties to this case, and much of it never said to our faces. I am not here to answer it all. This case is deliberately about one message, sent by one person, on one day — because that is how the truth gets tested: one claim at a time, on evidence, under oath.
In a movement whose whole purpose is to question official narratives and to fight misinformation, truthfulness and facts matter more than anything. Words matter. That is why I have asked a court — not social media — to rule on these ones.
The trial will go back to the beginning — to before Healing the Divide started, to the days of the first petition and the first National Day Zoom event, and to what happened after. I have carried these words for five years. I am going to court for one reason: to clear my name, before a judge, on the evidence, in the open.
Hearings in the State Courts are open to the public. Come and hear the evidence for yourself, and know the truth. Please arrive a little early to clear security — the hearing is on Level 27 — and note that recording inside the courtroom is not permitted.
I wish for the truth to be revealed and for justice to be done — and I trust the Court to do exactly that. Thank you to everyone who has stood with me these five years.
On Monday, I will be there — to clear my name.
